Latest Gmail feature will make your life easier

Gmail is finally rolling out one of the most basic and long-awaited features. With the latest update, Google is converting addresses, phone numbers, and contacts into to links in Gmail and Inbox to save users time.

“Gmail users often exchange information like addresses and phone numbers with each other to set up meetings, introduce colleagues, and plan events,” read a blog post posted by Google earlier this week.

But copy-pasting the information from an email into other apps and websites is not only a hassle for users but also wastes their time. However, it will no longer be the case after the latest update as Gmail and Inbox by Gmail on mobile devices as well as on web will convert text to interactive hyperlinks whenever they detect phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses in emails.

So next time when you receive an email address in your Gmail, you’ll be able to send an email to that address as clicking on it will prompt a new email composition window using your default mail app. Clicking an address link in the Gmail will take you to Google Maps to show you directions to the place.
